Botswana Gender and GBV Action Plans Workshop Reports

The gender and gender based violence action plan workshops brings together a cadre of representatives from ministries of gender, local government, local councils and local government associations in countries after ‘At the coalface’ research has been launched and strategies have been developed to take the finding of the research forward. The workshops cover a range of modules that include popularising the SADC Protocol on Gender and Development, assisting councils in developing 365 Day Local Action Plans to end Gender Based Violence or strengthen existing GBV action plans and also developing messages for backstopping the local 365 Day Action Plans to end GBV that speaks to a strategic communication plan for the GBV action plans. The workshops also inform councils about the collection of good practices for addressing GBV at the local level and the annual Gender Justice and Local Government Summit.
