Child labour in South Africa is one of the many cases that are under-reported with the department of labour struggling to pick up cases involving this practice. Labour Minister Mildred Oliphant said this week that her department was trying its best, through the laws that are available, to deal with the abuse of children in the workplace. She said child labour remained one of the practices where even families colluded with employers who abuse children.
