MAFETENG-World Vision Lesotho,together with orphans and vulnerable children from the Malumeng and Sekamaneng community,celebrated the enactment of the Child Protection and Welfare Act(2001) and International Day of Afican Child,in the Mafeteng district on Friday last week.

Among the invited guests who attended the event was the Minister of Gender and Youth,Sports and Recreation,Mrs ‘Mathabiso Lepono.The event started with a march led by children,which started   with a march led by children,which started from the world Vision Lesotho offices and ended at the Golden Hotel.

The World Vision Lesotho National Derector,Martin Silutongwe,thanked the government for implementing policies aimed at ensuring children’s wellbeing and protection.”We appreciate and recognise efforts being made as childrena are future.We are proud of the achievement.Churches need to be actively involved in making sure the Act becomes a reality.Lets unite to ensure a safe environment for our children” said Silutongwe.
