She sits in the cold once a week, on a hard plastic chair, with her toddler on her lap. She has saved up all week to visit him, giving him a yogurt and hugging him tight.
After an hour, her time is up. She needs to hand the two year old back to the social worker. Tears run down her face as she walks away.
Memory Konjiwe comes from Chiva, in Zimbabwe. It’s a tint town, with no industry and she has not much of a choice to make a living.
Konjiwa fled to South Africa, leaving her four four-year old son behind, to try to find a way to make money to feed her family.
