Dzimwe is a community radio station that focuses on the Monkey Bay community which is located in the Mangochi district. The radio station has been operating since 1998. It addresses issues such as health, safe motherhood, violence against women and girls, sustainable natural resources management, and income generation activities related to farming and fishing. All which are paramount in sustainable development. Dzimwe Community Radio Station broadcasts from 5:55 am to 10:00 pm daily. The radio station has a broadcast radius of 150 km and reaches almost 3.2 million listeners in the District of Mangochi, and parts of Ntcheu, Dedza and Balaka Districts. The radio station is staffed by a team of 13 volunteers, led by Station Manager, Hilda Phirie who receives support from an assistant supervisor and a Board of Directors made up of community representatives.
