Back by popular demand, this time with full accreditation!
Gender Links, a leading Southern African NGO that promotes gender equality in and through the media, invites applications for a SAQA accredited gender and media literacy course that involves three full days of participation at the Gender and Media Summit from 13-15 October; five two hour modules on a Thursday evening from mid October to mid November and a project to be implemented during the Sixteen Days of Activism from 25 November to 10 December after which successful participants will be awarded certificates of competence worth five credits.
The course will equip participants with gender analysis and a range of communication skills including media monitoring, how to take up complaints, design and cost campaigns, and use new media to leverage these campaigns. It is open to anyone with matric, and especially suited to government, NGO and private sector communicators who seek to promote gender justice in innovative ways.
Course fee: R2000 per person. Individual and group bookings accepted (discounts can be negotiated for the latter).
