Theme: Demanding a strong Post-2015 agenda for increasing voice, choice and control
Come and hear how one sub-region pushed the envelope of MDG3, and now seeks to influence the global agenda and strengthen its own post 2015 agenda!
The SADC Gender Protocol (SGP) is a ‘one-stop-shop’ that integrates regional and international gender equality instruments, like MDG3; Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) and the Maputo Protocol on the Rights of Women. The sub-regional instrument adequately covers new areas such as gender mainstreaming in the media as well as halving the prevalence of gender-based violence (GBV) which are critical areas of concern in the post 2015 developmental framework.
