Gender and media audience study: Lesotho

The attached report presents the findings of the Lesotho Gender and Media Audience Study (GMAS)
conducted by Gender Links (GL) in partnership with the Gender and Media Southern Africa (GEMSA) network
and student researchers from the National University of Lesotho Institute of Extra Mural Studies. It is the first
comprehensive study of audience news consumption patterns and preferences in Lesotho generally, as well as
the gender dimension of these.

The findings are based on the responses of 93 women and 86 men, a total sample of 179 from Maseru, Mafeteng
and Maputsoe.
