The attached report presents the findings of the Seychelles Gender and Media Audience Study (GMAS)
conducted by Gender Links (GL) in partnership with the social development division of the Ministry of Social
Affairs and Employment and GemPLus, the national affiliate of the Gender and Media Southern Africa (GEMSA)
network. It is the first comprehensive study of the gendered dimensions of audience news consumption and
preferences in Seychelles.
The findings are based on the responses of 89 women and 92 men (a total sample of 181) from the North, South
and Victoria (central) regions of Mahe across different age, education and racial groups.
