The Ghanzi District is populated by 43 370 people, and measures about 117.910 Km ² of which the majority is covered by the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, the largest game reserve in the country. The Ghanzi area is further characterized by commercial farming, and has a large variety of ethnic groups, amongst which are the San and Seherero. Ghanzi District Council has made an inspiring effort to address gender issues by mainstreaming their gender action plan into the council’s strategic plan. |
