Many women in South Africa are becoming high maintenance and have drained many a man’s bank ย account with their need to be “suitably” maintained and their exorbitant spending.
Mandisa Yoko, an independent financial adviser, attributes this phenomena to materialism, superficiality and the growth of the South African middle class.
“Many black men who previously dealt with bread-and-butter issues are now able to afford flashy cars and smart lifestyles. Their newly found status attracts young women who want to share some of the glitter,” Yoko says.
