According to GL Sex work is a business, but it is not only women involved in this line of work (Gender & Media Diversity Journal 2009; 52). It is by far the oldest profession in the world. Since time immemorial prostitution has been practised in society and often associated as a profession for women. However, as society has become more and more socialized and advanced, the profession seems to be changing hands as the male specie is now actively partaking in the profession, albeit the fact that it was once considered a taboo for a man to be known as a prostitute.
