The article is about a speech made by the Deputy Minister of Minerals and Energy on the Information Day on HIV/AIDS.

Trainer’s Notes: The article focuses on the behaviour of individuals and the need for them to introspect and make changes in their behaviour. It however does not deal with gender and sexuality at all, in the context of prevention and VCT.
 
Training Exercises: Trainees should make a field visit to a VCT centre and write an article on the experiences that people go through to access VCT.  Men and women can compare their experiences to see whether there are differences.  Trainees should identify the gender issues raised by the article (including how young men and women are able to access accurate information about sex and HIV transmission, the challenges faced by young men and women in protecting themselves during sex, the availability of youth friendly reproductive heath services).  The article can then be rewritten to include these issues,
