As a South African I am deeply ashamed that it has taken UN High Commissioner for Human Rights to verbally chastise us about the frequent occurrences of so-called corrective rape (‘No place for homophobia here’, The Star, June 14). It is already bad enough that South Africa is considered the rape capital of the world.
