There has been a significant increase in the proportion of women as sources in the news in Lesotho, from 21% in the 2003 Gender and Media Baseline Study (GMBS) in 2003 to 32% in the 2010 Gender and Media Progress Study (GMPS).
This is substantially higher than the regional average of 19%, as well as and the global average in the 2010 Global Media Monitoring Project (GMMP) of 24%.
