The Zambia 2012 Gender Protocol Barometer is the fourth annual tracking report of the country’s performance against the 28 targets of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Protocol on Gender and Development set for 2015. The Southern African Gender Protocol Alliance, represented in Zambia by Women and Law in Southern Africa (WLSA), has
conducted this audit annually.
Zambia has signed the SADC Gender Protocol but has not yet ratified the instrument. It is important that the country takes this step because the clock is ticking towards the 2015 deadline which is also in line with the Millennium Development Goal number three on gender equality.
