This report is part of the SADC Gender Protocol Barometer Baseline Study which provides an evaluation of Malawi’s progress in meeting the time-bound targets set out in the SADC Protocol on Gender and Development.

The main objectives of the study were:

  • To collect baseline data on the key provisions of the SADC Protocol on Gender and Development for Malawi, this will inform the overall SADC Gender Protocol Barometer Baseline study.
  • To monitor and evaluate Malawi’s progress towards the realisation of the 2015 time-bound gender and development targets.
  • To hold the government accountable for meeting the Protocol’s provisions.
