The Botswana SADC Gender Protocol Summit hosted by Gender Links and the Botswana Association of Local Authorities (BALA) was held from 26-27 March 2013 at Boipuso Hall in Gaborone. Under the banner 2015, Yes we Must! the summit brought together more than 150 participants from local government authorities, the media, NGOs, Community Based Organisations and Faith Based Organisations to commend and share efforts in achieving gender equality.

Nearly five years have passed since the historic adoption of the SADC Protocol on Gender and Development. Barely two years from now, governments will have to account for actions taken to meet the 28 targets of this unique subregional instrument that brings together existing global and continental commitments to gender equality.
