SADC Gender Protocol @ Work Tanzania News

Media houses are key role players in achieving the SADC Gender Protocol target of equal representation of both genders in the media as well as changing mindsets by representing women fairly with gender sensitive reporting.

Although ten local media houses registered to participate in Tanzania’s first SADC Gender Protocol Summit, only three media houses turned up to showcase their gender mainstreaming efforts. This raises questions about their commitment to meeting the SADC Gender Protocol targets.
