Maseru-50 lisente.That was what a 27-year-old-Maseru man offered his 12-year-old daughter to buy her silence after raping her.But the girl had none of it and told her mother what had happened.The police said the man sexually assulted the minor two weeks ago after her mother had gone buy snuff leaving the two alone in the house.

“The man took advantage of this and raped the girl”,Masupha Masupha the police spokes person said on monday.He said the mother told other villagers who later effected a citizen’s arrest.The man appeared before the Maseru Magistrate’sCourt last Tuesday where he was sentenced to 15 years in jail.

In a separate incident a 17-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by her 26-year-old neighbour on Thursday.The girl said to have forgot her spectacles at the house and when she came to pick them up the suspect forced her inside the house where he raped her.He also allegedly threatened to kill her if she screamed.The victim reported the matter to neighbours who arrested the man imediately and handed him over to the police.
