Covering Gender Violence in the Media, South Africa, May 2001
The media training course for South African journalists and communicators, hosted by the Institute for the Advancement of Journalism, was a follow up to the SADC media training workshop on covering violence against women that was held in December 2000 in Maseru, Lesotho. The SADC training workshop was the first regional media training workshop to focus on violence against women. It also marked the first time that civil society held a parallel workshop to a major SADC conference.
