The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) expressed disappointment at what it described as the government’s failure to heed international advice on the Traditional courts Bill. In a statement issued by spokesperson Isaac Mangena, SAHRC said Norway recommended that South Africa ensure that the Traditional Courts Bill complied with international standards and constitution obligations before the bill would be passed by parliament.
