Description :

Sex workers are agitating   for government to enact a law that will recognise and govern their profession . They called for dynamism at government enclave arguing that the public coffers stand to be boosted by taxes from the trade. They contended that a statutory recognition of their trade would also enable them to access free government sponsored anti retroviral ( ARVs) drugs to prolong their lives. They made the submissions recently at a workshop in Gaborone organised under the auspices of the Botswana Council of Churches, which gives support and care to sex workers in terms of education and counselling.
