The South Africa Alliance focal network- South African Women in Dialogue (SAWID), together with the Southern Africa Gender Protocol Alliance Secretariat- Gender Links (funded by the European Union in South Africa) continues to strengthen the Alliance through the Women Demand Action NOW: Countdown to 2015. The campaign gives you and your organisation the opportunity to sign up and pledge to champion targets of the SADC Gender Protocol. The key targets of the SADC Gender Protocol inform GL’s three core programmes media, governance and gender justice.

Letter of support from South African Women in Dialogue

South African Women in Dialogue (SAWID) hereby expresses our most sincere support and best wishes for the outcomes of the Gender Links SADC Gender Protocol National Summit 2014, for the shared dream of 50/50 by 2015 and for a strong post-2015 Gender Agenda.

We are deeply appreciative of the partnership that Gender Links has offered SAWID in collaborating towards demanding a strong post-2015 agenda, and SAWID fully supports the advocacy to demand government actions and accountability on the areas of women empowerment enshrined in the SADC Gender Protocol. The priority areas of the Protocol are areas of concern that women have repeatedly highlighted at SAWID events since our first SAWID National Dialogue in July 2003.
