Every woman has the right to make informed decisions and be in full control of their sexual reproductive health. The SADC Protocol on Gender and Development urges member states to develop and implement policies and programmes to address the reproductive health needs of women and men. However, this is not the case in Durban, where the Commission for Gender Equality (CGE), is reportedly investigating cases of forced sterilisation taking place in public hospitals. Read more
