Description

The resounding message at the memorial service for slain Constable Francis Rasuge was that women should stand up against domestic violence. Held in Hammanskraal yesterday, the sombre service was attended not only by her family and former police colleagues, but also cabinet ministers Angie Motshekga and Lulu Xingwana, as well as Deputy Minister of Police Maggie Sotyu.Rasuge went missing in 2004 and though her body was not found, William Nkuna, her ex-boyfriend, was arrested and tried for murder. He received a life sentence for the crime and refused to disclose the whereabouts of her remains.
