Strategic Communications Training Report for 2003

This project is a follow up to the training offered by Gender Links and partner organizations in 2002 in three South African provinces: the Eastern Cape, Western Cape and Gauteng. In 2003, workshops were conducted in North West, Free State, Mpumalanga and KwaZulu Natal.
This project is a follow up to the training offered by Gender Links and partner organizations in 2002 in three South African provinces: the Eastern Cape, Western Cape and Gauteng. In 2003, workshops were conducted in North West, Free State, Mpumalanga and KwaZulu Natal.
The objectives were:

  • Training in use of different types of media, including traditional, mainstream, community and new media (i.e. the Internet and E Mail).
  • Drawing up a campaign strategy.
  • Drawing up a project proposal for the campaign and planning a fund raising strategy.
  • Training in how to raise funds for a campaign.
  • Implementation of the campaign during the Sixteen Days of Peace, or Sixteen Days of Activism on Gender Violence from 25 November to 10 December 2003.
  • Evaluating the campaigns and synthesizing learning points for future campaigns.
