Description

Netsai is a 24 year old woman from Nembudziya, Gokwe. She dropped out of school as a result of financial problems and got married at a young age. Following the death of her husband she was left behind to fend for their three children alone. Netsai does not have time to take part in national events as she has to fend for her family. She works 12-16 hours daily, doing menial work on farms. Her ordeal is not uncommon to many rural women in the country. Rural who women constitute 82 percent of the country’s women population remain marginalised in all aspects of life compared to urban women, and this leads to lack of participation in national and political issues.
