Yarona FM is a privately owned commercial radio station. The station is in the hands of local business interests and minority shareholders. Its first broadcast was on August 22, 1999 as the first privately owned commercial radio station in Botswana. Broadcasting in Gaborone and surrounding areas at first, the station is now available on a national platform since May 2008.

Their programming is mainly focused on the previously ignored urban and peri-urban youth audience. Their core listenership audience is 16 – 24 years with a spillover of up to 35 years. It aims at becoming a multi-faceted media house with interests in print, audiovisual (TV) and digital based entertainment.

With its tagline as Live the music it is associated with the ‘freshest’ and newest songs on the airwaves. Read Institutional profile.
