Description

A march against gender based violence will start today at 7 am from BBS Mall to the Main Mall and will be led by Kgosi Arnold Somolekae of the  Broadhurst Customary Court. The march, organised by the Ministry of Labour and Home Affairs, is the culmination of three day seminar to create a platform for interactive discussions with Faith Based Organisations (FBO) on gender based violence. The workshop highlighted that “God created male and female to be in perfect harmony with one another and with Him. Man and woman  were created to function as His representatives on earth. They were to share equally in everything: in obedience, in blessings, in ruling and in producing (Genesis Chapter 1 and 2).” Speaking at the seminar the deputy permanent secretary in the ministry, Kelebogile Kgabi said they decided to involve FBOs in combating GBV because religious communities continue playing a leading role in fostering moral values within society.
