Two Zimbabwean men convicted of rape-Mmegi

Two Zimbabwean, Enos Chirungwa and Lucky Phiri have been found guilty of rape by Principal Magistrate Peggy Madandume.She dismissed the argument by the first accused that the complainant was a prostitute he often solicited sex from, saing it was fabrication to elude the law.

Madandume was referring to the first accused , Chirungwas evidence tha the complainant was his prostitute and always did business with him. Madandume said that the complainants evidence corroborated with other witnesses and she managed to identify them.”I agree that the complainant had never seen those two men until the day of the incident,”said the magistrate.

During trial, the accused person told the court that on the day in question he met up with the complainant and told her that he would like to buy sexual intercourse from her.”I paid her P40 and then she told me that she was on her preiod and she would check when she finished her period. Idecided to walk   her home and on our way we met up with second accused person and he joined us and we met up with a man who told us that the complainant was his prostitute also and he slapped her so we fought with him,”he had told the court.
