Seychelles was one of the French speaking countries targeted in MAP’s Francophone expansion together with the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Madagascar. With a small population of just over 80,000 the country also has few media houses but proved to be the most complex in the implementation of the MAP policy roll out process. However, there has been progress with two media houses having given buy-in to the process one for a gender aware HIV and AIDS policy and another for a Gender policy. The MAP target for Seychelles is seven media houses.
The draft policies for the two media houses are attached but are yet to be adopted.
