This report which has been prepared by Gender Links, the Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) and the Gender and Media Southern Africa (GEMSA) Network, is part of an audit of the SADC Declaration on Gender and Development ahead of the Heads of State Summit in 2005.

The report draws on the ground breaking Gender and Media Baseline Study (GMBS) conducted by MISA and GL; the Gender and Media Audience Study (GMAS) conducted by GL and university partners around the region and case material presented at the Gender and Media (GEM) Summit in September 2004.
