The policy roll out process in South Africa was among the lowest in the countries targeted by MAP. The initial number of media houses targeted in South Africa was 18. However, very little progress was made in getting buy-in from these media. Khaya FM was one of the media houses that drafted and adopted a HIV and AIDS policy as part of the policy roll out pilot project. Since then no other media house has reached that stage although buy-in was granted by seven other media houses.
