GL also offers two Conferencing Facilities next to each other, situated at 9 Derrick Avenue and 28 Marcia Street, Cyrildene in Johannesburg.

Both Conferencing Facilities accommodate from twenty five up to a maximum of thirty participants. The Conference package includes meeting room (with wireless internet connectivity), morning and afternoon teas, cordials and lunch. Data projector and stationery is also available at a nominal fee.

The idea to offer our Conferencing Facilities to external stakeholders was motivated by the number of queries received from partners, and other Non Governmental Organisations, to provided workshop/conferencing facilities.

Booking are processed through a booking system maintained by the Communications and Marketing Coordinator. We encourage that bookings are made at least two weeks in advance. A conference booking form will then be sent out for completion.

Support offered includes conceptualising the meeting, drawing up invitation letters, disseminating and following up on the invitations, booking flight and accommodation, formulating workshop programme, compiling workshop documents and other materials as necessary, financial management services, facilitation support, and the production of a comprehensive workshop report.

Capitalising of Gender Links expertise in the areas of Gender and the Media, Gender Justice, Gender and Governance, and through an expert’s database Gender Links is able to facilitate workshops/seminars on these and other gender related topics. Responding to a need by donor organisations like DANIDA and HIVOS, for an organisation to organise, coordinate and facilitate their events, Gender Links has thus successfully showcased it’s ability in that respect.

  • A support team comprising of a project manager, facilitators and an administrator is drawn and commissioned to engage with the organisation seeking the service to establish their needs.
  • An action plan (with time frames) and budget are drawn following the brief.
  • A role out schedule is finalised in liaison with the host organisation, and implementation thus begins.
