Masvingo City Council

Brief Council Description

Masvingo is the Provincial Capital of Masvingo Province with an estimated population of +/- 100 000 residents. The City is located in the southern province of the country called Masvingo Province and it is the Province’s capital City. The council joined the COE  program in 2011 and is making strides in improving gender issues within their structures. The council is a Hub council for Masvingo province urban councils under the Hub and Spoke programme for gender mainstreaming in Zimbabwe. The Council joined the Promoting Gender Inclusive Local Economic Development in Zimbabweprogramme in 2023. The project’s focus is on promoting Local Economic Development through floriculture production.
