Brief Council Description
Umguza Rural District Council is found in the southern part of Zimbabwe. It is one of the seven administrative districts in Matebeleland North province. The population was estimated to be 113 265 in 2022 with a projected 3% annual growth rate. The total area of Umguza is about 837 478 hectares. The Council joined the COE project in 2013 and matured over the years to become a Hub of excellence. The local authority joined the Promoting Gender Inclusive Local Economic Development in Zimbabwe programme in 2023. Through partnership with Gender Links, the project seeks to promote Local Economic Development through the horticulture produce export initiative. |
