16 Days Events | Join our COP | Resources & information | Past campaigns
Launched in August 2018 the #Voice and Choice campaign gained momentum over the last year. National Alliance partners and local councils are implementing 37 and 177 campaigns in seven thematic areas respectively. The 16 Days of No Violence Against Women stretches from 25 November to the 10 December. Key dates include:
25 November – International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women
1 December – International Aids Day
3 December – International Day of the Disabled
6 December – Anniversary of the Montreal Massacre
10 December – Human Rights Day
The 2019 16 Days campaign takes place against the backdrop of the 25th anniversaries of the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) and Beijing Platform for Action as well as the adoption of the SADC Regional Strategy and Scorecard on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (2019 – 2030). Call for stories on Sexual Reproductive Health & Rights
Gender Links (GL) in its capacity as secretariat for the SADC Gender Protocol Alliance is called for stories to be published as part of its series during the Sixteen Days of Activism that will be used to move from the 16 Days to Generation Equality. Click here to find out more.
