Gender Links is engaging Mauritius media houses in the Centres of Excellence (COE) for gender in the media project. Working with four of Mauritius’s largest media houses, the COE approach builds on GL experience in working with media houses on developing and implementing gender policies and action plans through a six-stage process. The focus of this process is on-the-job training and support and impact assessment leading up to the 5th and 6th Gender and Media (GEM) summits in 2013 and 2014. GL is currently working with three private print media houses and the country’s only public broadcaster covering radio and television.
