Gender Links is engaging Tanzania media houses in the Centres of Excellence (COE) for gender in the media project. Working with 11 media houses, the COE approach builds on GL experience in working with media houses on developing and implementing gender policies and action plans through a six-stage process. The focus of this process is on-the-job training and support and impact assessment leading up to the 5th and 6th Gender and Media (GEM) summits in 2013 and 2014. GL is currently working with one public print house, five private print media houses, one private and one community radio station, one public broadcaster and two private television stations.
