In 2005, Gender Links and partner networks in the Gender and Media Southern Africa Network (GEMSA) participated in the third Global Media Monitoring Project (GMMP) coinciding with the the third anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Beijing. Gender Links, with assistance from the Media Monitoring Project (MMP) that analysed the global data, has conducted an analysis of the regional findings and benchmarked these against the Gender and Media Baseline Study (GMBS) that took place in the region in 2003/2004.
