More than 80 participants from across Zimbabwe converged at Kadoma Hotel and Conferencing Centre in Kadoma for the first Zimbabwe Gender Justice and Local Government Summit. The event showcased examples of local efforts to end gender violence and empower women across Zimbabwe.
Convened by Gender Links Zimbabwe and Zimbabwe Local Government Association (ZiLGA), the summit iwas attended by journalists, local government authorities, municipalities, NGOs and representatives of ministries of gender and local government. 52 Good practices entered in 10 different categories and entrants include 23 councils from across Zimbabwe, several individual leaders, NGOs and CBOs.
