As the 73rd UN General Assembly is convened in New York City from 18 September 2018 a number of events under the Women and Girls category are lined up during this period. It is important that all the issues prioritised at UNGA must be addressed with a gender perspective and gender equality and women’s empowerment must be a cross cutting issue.
Within this month Gender Links will bring the implementation of the SADC Gender Protocol to the forefront as this is a roadmap to achieving the Sustainable Development Goal (SDGS) in Southern African countries. GL will continue to bring gender equality and women’s rights issue to the forefront and calls for tangible actions in implementation of these instruments to achieve gender equality.
