The Zimbabwe Summit whose thematic focus is on Gender Responsive Budgeting was held from 17 – 18 November 2022. Local authorities in Zimbabwe showcased best practices in three categories including Drivers of Change; Local Government Institutional Centres of Excellence; and Gender Responsive Budgeting. Gender Links in partnership with the Ministry of Local Government and Public Works also launched the gender responsive budgeting toolkit for local government at the summit.
- To launch the gender responsive budgeting toolkit for local government.
- To gather evidence through case studies on gender responsive budgeting, leadership, and institutional practise.
- To establish the gender progress scores for the Centres of Excellence for Gender in Local Government.
- To promote discussion and reflection on the gender mainstreaming programme in Zimbabwe.
