Due to COVID-19 restrictions Lesotho held three Summits including Entrepreneurship; Local Government COEs and thematic areas.
Gender Links Lesotho in partnership with the Commonwealth Local Government Forum held the first of the three summits on 28-29 October 2020. The first summit was held for entrepreneurs and beneficiaries of the Sunrise Campaign. A total of 20 aspiring entrepreneurs presented on their businesses in front of the judges for the two days and two winners and two runners-up emerged from both the new group and the pilot group. The #VoiceandChoice entrepreneurship summit provided a platform for sharing and learning for all the emerging entrepreneurs.
The Lesotho #VoiceandChoice summit running under the theme: Local Action for a strong 2030 A-gender in Southern Africa was hosted for local authorities as the 2nd Summit from the 3rd-4th November 2020 of which 50 local authorities presented their institutional profiles and best practices and there were five winners consisting of 2 urban councils and 3 rural councils in the categories of overall performance, most resourceful council and best improved council.
And lastly the 3rd Summit for Thematic areas took place on the 11th November 2020 which hosted individuals,Faith based Organizations,Government ministries,Media and civil society organizations.Participants were showing casing their work on diffirent categories namely SRHR,GBV Media and Economic Justice.
