Local Action to Achieve SDGs and SADC Gender Protocol by 2030

Brief introduction of summit
The Botswana SADC Protocol @ Work Summit under the theme “Action to achieve SDGs and SADC Gender Protocol by 2030” began on high note at the Oasis Motel on the 6th March 2018 officially opened by the Assistant Minister of Local Government and rural development Hon. Botlogile Tshireletso. Watch the opening ceremony here.
Breakaway sessions where held during the summit, during the session councils and individual organisations had an opportunity to showcase their work under different thematic areas including GBV, Centers of Excellence in Gender Mainstreaming, Driver of Change (Leadership) among others. On the 7th March the summit ended on a high note with an award ceremony to recognise those who did well in presenting their good practices. The award ceremony was officiated by the Minister of Nationality, Immigration and Gender Affairs Hon. Edwin J. Batshu. During the same ceremony the 2017 Regional Barometer was launched.
