Communications Department spreads its wings

The Communications Department is taking off with its team work. At the end of January, Danny and Mona paid a visit to Mpho and Ntolo in Lesotho, the Kingdom in the Sky. On the first day, Mpho and Ntolo took Danny and Mona to Ha Mohale, where they went horse-riding up steep but beautiful hills. The drizzle and the fear of falling off the horses didn’t stop GL staff from taking photos, which were captioned after the trip! Danny spent his time in Lesotho conducting a writing workshop with Maseru-based journalists and visiting editors to promote the Opinion and Commentary Service. After a full day of film training with Mona, Ntolo gained confidence behind the camera and put her lessons into practice at The Gender and Child Protection Unit in Pitseng Police Station. GL’s Lesotho field office now has a profile on Facebook, add them as a friend if you would like to hear more news or updates.

Until March, the Communications Department is going to be busy working on preparations for the 10-year celebration. Amidst the hustle and bustle, Danny and Mona are happy to welcome Hunadi Ralebipi from the University of Limpopo to their team. The extra pair of hands and mind of this media student will be an asset to GL for the next six months.
