Editor and Productions Manager

Gender Links, a dynamic Southern African NGO based in Johannesburg, specialising in gender, governance, justice and the media invites applications for the post of Editor and Productions Manager.

Tasks: The successful candidate will be responsible for conceptualising and marketing the English Opinion and Commentary Service, as well as ensuring effective coordination and synergy with the Francophone and Lusophone Services. The Editor and Productions Manager will also provide editorial oversight of all GL written, visual and audio visual productions.

Skills: The successful candidate will have at least ten years experience in writing/ editing for the media and publications; excellent writing, editing and proof reading skills; a firm grounding in gender issues; knowledge of the Southern African region and IT/ website skills. Design and production skills, French and or Portuguese would be a distinct advantage.

The post is for an initial two year period based at GL’s head office in Johannesburg. A competitive remuneration package will be offered, commensurate with skills and experience.
