GBV Indicators Project

Gauteng
This period involved the finalisation of the GBV Indicators Gauteng report. Efforts to obtain more data were fruitful and we received information from the Gauteng Department of Health and Social Development and Lifeline. A fact-finding meeting has also been scheduled with the Gauteng Community Safety Department.

Other provinces of South Africa
A tender advert to conduct the prevalence and attitudes survey was put out in the week of 11 February. We received an overwhelming response and plenty of interest.

A consultative meeting will be held with the Limpopo government steering committee on 25 February 2011.

Botswana
The satellite office continues to solicit “I” Stories from various locations in the country. Data entry for political discourse analysis has commenced.

Mauritius
Data entry for political discourse analysis has commenced and plans are underway to commission consultants to solicit “I” Stories.
