GEM Summit

Gender Links held its fourth Gender and Media Summit from the 13^th-15^th of October. This brought together close to 130 local, regional and international participants. The Summit was preceded by planning meetings on Media Literacy, Gender policies and the 16 days of activism against violence on women and children. These were held on the 11^th and 12^th of October. The summit saw participants engage on issues around Research and Monitoring, Training, Advocacy, Community and Social media and Policy and Regulation.  The Gender and Media Awards which honour excellence and good journalistic practice capped this event. The awards were held on the evening of the 15^th of October.
